Don Paul Hodge

December 13, 1950 — April 18, 2020

Don Paul Hodge was born in Denver, Colorado in 1950 to Aaron and Virginia Hodge. His parents were in the Baptist Ministry, so he spent his childhood traveling around the United States. He attended Texas A&M for Aerospace Engineering and met his wife, Gennie, in Civil Air Patrol. After they were married, they settled in Aberdeen, Maryland, where he served the Department of Defense as a Systems Analyst for 40 years.

Don and Gennie have two children, Laura and Jacob. Laura’s partner is Matthew Dreher and Jacob’s partner is Kelsey Franey.

In addition to his love of his family and of problem-solving, which was showcased during his career, Don was active with the Boy Scouts of America and had a great love for the outdoors.

He could often be found sitting outside in a rocking chair enjoying the breeze.

Don passed away on April 18, 2020 of a heart attack. He is survived by Gennie, Laura, Jacob, his mother Virginia and his brother Howard Hodge. He is also survived by Karen Hodge Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, as well as his dog, S.A.M. and his grand-dog, Isabel.

A memorial service will be planned in the future once quarantine restrictions due to the Coronavirus Pandemic are lifted.
