Don Moore

February 28, 1930 — November 3, 2014

Donald Jack Moore of Bel Air, Maryland, a retired sales representative for educational textbooks, died November 3, 2014 after a brief illness at the Lorien Bel Air Assisted Living Facility.

Donald graduated from Westminster College, New Wilmington Pennsylvania where he achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Education. At Westminster, Donald met his wife, Shirley. During their life together, Don and Shirley enjoyed many close relationships--those forged in their college days together; in the halcyon days of their youth; throughout their respective careers; and in the various communities where they lived before finding their final home in Knollwood, where their neighbors became their extended family—and those relationships lasted through their lifetimes. Donald's devotion to his late wife, Shirley and their respect and love for each other were manifest to all who know them, as was their love and pride in their children and in their only granddaughter, Brin Marissa Moore. Donald was predeceased by his parents, Wilson and Janet Sheridan Moore, his wife Shirley and by his siblings, Gloria and Bill, but he is survived by his children: Jacqueline Anne Delisle and her husband Steve; Jeffrey Scott Moore and his wife, Whitney, his daughter Jennifer Lee Moore, his granddaughter, Brin Marissa Moore, and by his nephew, Thomas Moore.

There could be no better father or friend. While his family and the friends that he leaves behind grieve for their own loss, each of us know that much of Don's joy in this life diminished with the passing of his wife and of so many of those close friends who had already departed.

Donald will be interred in a private ceremony at Christ Episcopal Church, in Forest Hill, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, donations to: Westminster College-Library Fund 319 South Market Street, New Wilmington, PA 16172, or, to the Senator Robert Hooper (Hospice) House, (whose had the care of his wife, Shirley), at Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation/Senator Bob Hooper House, 520 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Suite 405 Bel Air, MD 21014, are invited.
