Diana Mae Wright Bailey, age 59, of Aberdeen, MD, died on August 19, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of Betty Jane Stamper Wright of Bel Air, MD and the late Verlon Cleveland Wright of Aldino, MD, and wife of the late John W. Bailey Jr. Diana graduated from Havre de Grace High School in 1968 and attended Harford Community College. She won the Miss Greater Bel Air beauty pageant in Harford County and went on to compete in the Miss Maryland pageant in 1969. In the early 1970's, she worked as a commercial architect for a firm in Baltimore. Since 1974 she has owned and managed Diana's Thrift Shop and apartment rentals in Aberdeen. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Level Building Supplies in Havre de Grace from 1974 until it closed in 1996. Diana was a proficient artist who enjoyed oil painting. Over the years, she won many prizes for her pieces entered in the annual Art Show in Havre de Grace.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Crystal D. Dziecichowicz and husband, David, of Aberdeen, MD; one son, John W. Bailey III and wife, Marlana, of Havre de Grace, MD; two brothers, David V. Wright of Perryville, MD and Michael P. Wright of Bel Air, MD; one sister, E. Danies Brown of Perryville, MD; and three grandchildren, Matthew, David, and Joe Dziecichowicz.
