Dewey David Sitzes Jr.

Dewey David Sitzes Jr., age 87, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on January 14, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Dewey David and Frederika Mercelet Reimler Sitzes. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during WWII. He worked for American Can Company for 37 years as a Lithographer and was an avid golfer who also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Mr. Sitzes is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laverne Valerie Nicholas Sitzes; son, Kerry R. Sitzes (Stacey) of Forest Hill; daughter, Sherry L. Cowper (Ken) of Fishers, IN; sisters, Rosemary League of Patterson, MO and Laveda Semple of Denver, CO; and grandchildren, Adam N. Sitzes of Abingdon and Aaron K. Cowper of New York, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Clifford Dean Sitzes and Eldon R. Sitzes; and sister, Elzena M. Green.
