Dennis Richard Barnes, age 74, of White Hall, MD passed away on June 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Anita Barnes (Mugge). A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served our country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 182 in Whiteford, MD, the VFW in Jarrettsville. Dennis was a small business owner of Piccadilly Square Chimney Sweep for over 35 years. It’s considered good luck to shake the hand of a chimney sweep. If you were lucky enough to shake Dennis’ hand, the luck of a chimney sweep would follow you in his friendship.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed riding is Harley, ATV’s and snowmobiles especially around his cabin in Potter County, Pennsylvania. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Dennis was a devoted “Poppy” to his grandchildren.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his fiancée, Evelyn L. Blakely of White Hall; son, Kurt Paul Barnes, wife, Cori and their son Harrison; daughter Kelly Brook Absher, husband, Derek and their children, Cassandra, Meridith and Samuel Price; step-son, Robert William Blakely, wife, Virginia and their children, Michael and Kelly Ayres, Collin and Briannah Blakely.
