Dennis M. Barry

Dennis M. Barry, age 71, passed away on August 14, 2019 at his home in Abingdon, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Thomas Barry and Fern Lornore Knight. In addition to his parents, his brother, Keith Barry, preceded him in death. He also had a stepsister Jan Anglin.

Dennis received residential services through Mid-Atlantic Human Service Corporation for 19 years. Dennis and his care provider, Monica Martinez, lived together for almost 17 years. The two had a bond that could never be broken, he thought of her as family.

Dennis also attended the Chimes at Milford Mill for more than 28 years. He worked on various in-house contracts and was known to keep his workstation very neat.

Dennis was a man of few words and lived a life of peace and comfort. He spent endless hours coloring, playing Dominos, looking at magazines and stacking blocks. He enjoyed listening to Gospel music, playing cards and watching his videos. Dennis also had a sweet tooth and wouldn’t turn down a cookie if offered. He enjoyed eating Mexican food with Monica and going to McDonald’s.

Dennis was a man of simple pleasures and he touched the hearts of many. It is hard for those of us who knew him to believe he is gone, but now we have one more angel to look over us.
