DENNIS JOSEPH DUNN, JR., age 86, of Bel Air died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on November 15, 2004. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Dennis Joseph, Sr. and Ellen Walsh Dunn and the husband of the late Carrie Marie Scudder Dunn. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1975. He worked his entire career for the Army in the BRL (Ballistics Research Lab) as Ballistics Research Expert. He graduated from Villanova University where he was #1 seed tennis player. He earned a masters degree in mathematics from the University of Delaware. He served in the Army during WWII. A resident of Bel Air since the early 1950’s, he was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Hickory, the VFW, the American Legion and other veteran organizations. He was an avid bowler for many years and an avid sports enthusiast especially baseball.
Mr. Dunn is survived by three daughters, Judith Fisher of Bexley, Ohio, Patricia Gallagher of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and Sheila Dunn of Asheville, North Carolina; a sister, Mary Fay and her husband Captain Richard Fay, US Navy Retired of Bethesda, Maryland; and three grandchildren, Land H. Fisher of Washington, D.C., Clay A. Fisher of Washington, D.C., and Colin F. Gallagher of Arlington, Virginia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Dennis Joseph Dunn, III.
