DENISE FAITH BLOOM HORNER, age 50, of White Hall, died on January 9, 2006 at Franklin Square Hospital. Born in Aberdeen Proving Ground, she was the daughter of Erna Vitousek Bloom of Forest Hill and the late Mahlon Edward Bloom. She was retired from Verizon where she was one of the first women cable splicers. A motorcycle enthusiast, Ms. Horner worked part-time as a state certified motorcycle safety instructor. A woman of many talents, she played many musical instruments, many self-taught, such as the dulcimer, psaltery, mandolin and guitar. Ms. Horner was also very artistic and worked well with pen and pencil drawings as well as with water colors. She was a nature lover who truly enjoyed being outdoors doing everything from camping to bird-watching. Her best friend was her dog, Jeb, who was her faithful companion for more than 10 years.
In addition to her mother, Ms. Horner is survived by three sisters, Tanya H. Wersinger of Greensville, SC, Irene M. Whalen of Bel Air, and Monica A. Goza of Springfield, VA; and 13 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother, Dwight D. Bloom.
