Debbie Dianne Hoopes

DEBBIE DIANNE HOOPES, age 49, of Abingdon, MD, died on September 8, 2006. Born in Fort McClellan, AL, she was the daughter of David J. Smith, Sgt. Major, (USA Retired) and Inge G. Holtz Smith of Abingdon, MD. She was an LPN in an assisted living facility. Her family said that she was a great nurse and very dedicated to her job. She enjoyed people, making crafts and her mother’s cooking. She loved her family and was very close to her mother, father, and brothers. She also loved animals, especially her cats, Christy, WalMart, Prince, and Friendly. She is survived by many relatives and friends that deeply cared and loved her. Her family said, “She was a beautiful person and she will be deeply missed.” Her father said she was his “Pride and Joy”.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hoopes is survived by a fiancé, Michael W. McDonald of Abingdon, MD; two brothers, David B. Smith of Jarrettsville, MD and Steven M. Smith and his wife, Janine of Glen Burnie, MD; two nephews, David T. Smith and Tyler A. Smith of Jarrettsville, MD; one niece, Kelly S. Anderson of White Marsh, MD; two step-nephews, Samuel W. Slater and Daniel R. Slater both of Glen Burnie, MD; and her best friend, Melissa V. Harvey of Bel Air, MD.
