DEBBIE ANN PILLSBURY, age 51, of Edgewood, MD, died on April 9, 2006 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD after losing her battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born in Wilmington, DE on May 10, 1954 to the late Wayne Delbert and Joan Elizabeth Barber Bennett. She was a parent liaison at Magnolia Elementary School for several years after the family settled in Edgewood following her husband’s retirement from the US Army. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Joppa, MD, and was a volunteer in the community for several years. Her family said that she had a strong passion for helping others, and that she enjoyed celebrating everyone’s birthday with them and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Pillsbury is survived by her husband of 32 years, SFC Melvin R. Pillsbury (ret.) of Edgewood, MD; one son, Chad Lee Pillsbury, and his wife, Meg F. Pillsbury, of Red Lion, PA; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Pillsbury of Nottingham, MD; mother, Fern Bennett of Lewes, DE; three brothers, James C. Emery of Windham, NH, Wayne M. Emery of Davenport, IA and Brant W. Emery of Westmont, IL; and six grandchildren, Ben M. Federline, Kaitlyn E. Pillsbury and Noah B. Pillsbury, all of Red Lion, PA, Julia L. Breindel-Pillsbury of Wassella, AK, Brandon M. Starnes of Conowingo, MD and Alex Pecor of Oconto, WI.
