Dean Gilbert Bedsaul, Jr.

Dean Gilbert Bedsaul Jr., passed away on August 31, 2012 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD after a lengthy illness at age 73. Born in Sparta, NC, he was the son of the late Dean Gilbert Bedsaul Sr. and Blanche Almeda Crouse Bedsaul. A Machine Shop teacher, he retired after 30 years from Harford County Public Schools. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. He enjoyed going to his shore home in Rock Hall where he fished and crabbed and was an avid Ravens and Washington Redskins fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR.

Mr. Bedsaul is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann Dayhoof Bedsaul of Bel Air, MD; sons, Mark S. Bedsaul and wife, Valarie, and Paul E. Bedsaul, all of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Robin A. Speck and husband, Jeff, of St. Louis, MO; sister, Linda L. Houck and husband, John, of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Jacob A. Bedsaul and Christina A. Bedsaul all of Bel Air, MD; and aunt, Faye Eller of Aberdeen, MD. He is also survived by his black lab, Toby and his cat, Patches. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, David L. Bedsaul and grandson, Christopher P. Bedsaul.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Teate, Glen Roudebush, Clifford Giles (former students), Gregory Connors, John T. Dayhoof, III and James Hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Baines, Fred Schmidt, Gilbert Gentry, Richard Blevins and Kenneth Cooper.
