Deacon J. Donald Macknew

Deacon J. Donald MacKnew, age 88, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on October 17, 2021, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late George and Regina (Truffer) MacKnew and husband of Rosetta (Shugh) MacKnew. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. Donald was raised in Pasadena, MD. He was a resident of Harford County since 1965. He worked for American Airlines for 43 years, including 5 years with SATO. He was a Deacon at St. Margaret Church since 1986. He was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years.

Donald is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosetta MacKnew; daughter, Diane (Loren) Osborn of Albuquerque, NM; son, Robert (Manon) E. MacKnew of Bel Air, MD; daughter-in-law, Patricia MacKnew; brother, George C. MacKnew of Boonsboro, MD. Donald is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son, David M. MacKnew, sister, Jane F. Matulonis, father, George Washington MacKnew, and mother, Regina Frances MacKnew.

A private graveside service, held by the family, will take place at a later date. Interment will take place at St. Francis De Sales Cemetery, 1450 Abingdon Rd, Abingdon, MD 21009.
