Dawn Denise Back-Hughes

Dawn Denise Back-Hughes, age 68, passed away on June 23, 2024, at Gilchrist Hospice of Howard County in Columbia, Maryland. Born in Dundalk, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Thalia (McGaha) Moler.

Dawn was a dedicated member of the Dundalk Post #38 American Legion. She retired from Perry Point VA Hospital after four years of service. For the majority of her career, she worked as a Logistics Manager for PFG Carroll County Foods and Sysco, where she was known for her professionalism and commitment.

Dawn had a passion for gardening, often spending hours tending to her flowers and plants. She was an avid bowler and cherished the times she spent having tea parties with her grandchildren. She loved visiting the beach and the pool, enjoying the sun and the sea.

Dawn is survived by her daughters, April Denise (Chris) Zeauskas, Amy Lee (Craig) Mackowiak, and Amber Lynn Back; her grandchildren, Gavin Stowell, Emery Mackowiak, David, Corey, Abbey and Emily Zeauskas, ; and her sisters, Lucretia (Don) Moler-Beach, and Rhonda (Marty) Singley in addition to many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Higby, and her brother, Richard Moler.

Dawn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will forever be remembered.
