David Ray Sturgill, age 72, of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania passed away on August 12, 2024. Born in Bainbridge, Maryland, he was the son of Robert and Emma (Wilcox) Sturgill. The husband of Cynthia Joyce (Lytle) Sturgill, they have been married for 50 years. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. David was in the automotive industry since he was 16 years old. He eventually owned and operated Sturgill Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Jeep Dealership in Conowingo, Maryland owning it for over 20 years. David enjoyed playing pool in Forest Hill, and he was also an avid golf player. Woodworking was also a passion of David’s, he made all sorts of things including hope chests for his girls, pinewood derby cars for the boys, and bookshelves. David also loved to travel and was blessed to see a lot of places all over the world, Africa being one of his favorite places. David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Despite his sarcastic humor, it was always clear how deeply he cared for his family.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughters, Jessica (David) Sambor, Jennifer (Robert, Jr.) Snyder, and Lindsey Sturgill; grandchildren, Hailey Snyder, Tyler Sambor, Julia Snyder, Lauren Snyder, Dylan Sambor, and Nathan Snyder; brother, Dennis Sturgill and nephew, Christopher Sturgill.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by brother, Robert Sturgill, Jr.
