David Jude Jones, age 87, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on April 8, 2020 at his home. Born in Forest Hill, Maryland, he was the son of William and Margaret (Cochran) Jones and husband of the late Katherine (Ferrell) Jones. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army, owner of Jones Electric for 28 years, and held the position of chief electrical inspector for Harford County. He was a member of Whiteford Motorcycle club, participated in Motorcycle Hillclimb events and was National Hillclimb Champion multiple times. David was an AMA motorcycle District 7 referee and an AMA congressman.
David is survived by his sons, David Mark Jones of Joppa (wife Glenda) and Matthew Ferrell Jones of Bel Air (wife Jen); daughters, Sheldon (Shelli) Elizabeth Landon of Tulsa, OK (husband Barry), and Margaret (Meg) Frances Schnitzlein of Bel Air (husband David); grandchildren: Bobby Louis, Nathan Schnitzlein (wife Erica), Joshua Schnitzlein, Andrew Ferrell Jones, Taylor Rae Jones, and sisters: Angela Delorme (Vermont) and Agnes Turgeon (Florida).
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Phyllis Allocca, Margaret (Peggy) Jones, and Vivian Siewierski.
