David Edward Brode, Sr.

DAVID EDWARD BRODE, SR., age 59, of Joppatowne, MD, died on May 16, 2006 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late Ellsworth Russell and Elizabeth Dudley Brode. He worked for Genstar from the 1970s until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Bel Air Council of the Knights of Columbus, and the VFW in Fallston. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a past member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Fallston. His family said that he enjoyed fishing and boating, spending time with his grandchildren and working on cars. They said that he also enjoyed volunteering his time at the VA Medical Center at Perry Point.

Mr. Brode is survived by three sons, David Edward Brode, Jr., and his wife, Loretta Lynn Brode, of Joppa, MD, Benjamin Russell Brode of Kingsville, MD and Robert Andrew Brode of Bel Air, MD; one daughter, Laurie Ann Stringer, and her husband, Benjamin Stringer, of Orlando, FL; and 8 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Tuck.
