David E. Webb

David E. Webb, age 63, of Bel Air, MD, died on April 17, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John Rhodes and Katherine Ann Scott Webb. A graduate of Patterson High School, he served as a medic in the U.S. Navy in 1966 aboard the U.S.S. Spiegle Grove along with his brother, John, who was stationed on the same boat. He was then stationed at the Naval Hospital in Quantico, VA, until his discharge in 1969. He worked as a Baltimore City Police officer retiring in 1993, after which he started his own business doing fire investigations. He started working for the Maryland State Insurance Fraud Division where he really enjoyed his work. He was also a Public Relations Officer for FOP Lodge #3. He loved his family, especially his grandson Nathan, and also loved the Orioles and Ravens, working on and building computers, and his Corvette.

Mr. Webb is survived by his son Brian J. Webb and fiancée, Stephanie M. Wagner, of Joppatowne, MD; siblings, John R. Webb Jr. and fiancée, Marilyn Ryan, of IL, Cass Friedel and husband, Butch, of Baltimore, MD, Christine Robbins and husband, Jeral, of Duffield, VA, Patty Vasser and husband, Ken, of Mooringsport, LA, Rita Hartranft and husband, Steve, of Edgewood, MD, George Pearce and wife, Amy, of Big Stonegap, VA, Carol Hawtin and husband, Wally, of Bel Air, MD; and grandson Nathan G. Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Kevin Pearce.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercy Health Foundation, 301 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, MD 21202 and please note that it is to go to the ICU or to The Baltimore City Police FOP Lodge #3, 3920 Buena Vista Ave., Baltimore, MD 21211.
