DAVID E. VANDERBURGH, M. DIV., 74, of Forest Hill, died at Hart Heritage, Street, on April 28, 2004. Born in Shanghai, China, he was the son of the late Richard Montgomery and Hester May Cartwright Vanderburgh. He was an ordained minister for the United Church of Christ. He was a Certified Financial Planner with P.S.A. in Towson, Maryland. He retired in 1994 from Baltimore County where he was a computer systems analyst. He had also worked for the U.S. Government as Regional Director of Office of Economic Opportunity. He was an avid hiker and camper in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado. He was a music and art lover and was a talented amateur artist. He was very well known for his sense of humor. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Harvard with an A.B. in Philosophy and from Yale with a Master of Divinity.
Mr. Vanderburgh is survived by his wife of 25 years, Daphne M. Palmer Vanderburgh, four sons, David J. T. Vanderburgh of Brussels, Belgium, Scott C.C. Max of Denver, Colorado, Stephen K. L. Vanderburgh of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jonathan P. West of Bel Air, two daughters, Elizabeth T. L. Ford of Exton, Pennsylvania and Karen V. Eske of Laurel, a brother, Richard Vanderburgh of Oakwood, Ohio, and five grandchildren, Alyssa T. L. Ford of Exton, Pennsylvania, Shane A. West of Bel Air, Troylynn M. Ford of Exton, Pennsylvania, Soura L. J. Vanderburgh of Brussels, Belgium, and Josephine T. G. Vanderburgh of Brussels, Belgium.
