DAVID “FLASH” E. RIDGELY, age 55, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, died in Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2004. Born in West Friendship, Maryland, he was the son of the late George Elber Ridgely and Evelyn Rosemarie Selby Lesher. He had worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Sheet Metal Local 100 for 20 years. He was a member of Tabernacle Regular Baptist Church in Airville, PA. He was an avid fisherman and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed helping his neighbors by mowing their yards. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Mr. Ridgely is survived by his wife of 8 years, S. Diane Brackins Ridgely; three sons, David J. Ridgely; William H. Ruttinger, Jr.; Brian K. Ruttinger, all of Dundalk; three brothers, W. Everett Ridgely of Tawneytown; Gary Ridgely of Maynardville, Tennessee; Wayne Ridgely of Watterville, Maine; one sister, Sandy Heck of Tawneytown; and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Evon Shammer.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Smith and Billy Flowers.
