Dave Cleary

David Edward Cleary, age 73, of Bel Air, MD passed away on November 2, 2012 at his home. Born on January 10, 1939 at Shucks Road (on one of the Ross Todd's Farms) in Bel Air, MD. Dave was a son of the late Ivan Clarence and Betty Ruth Jennings Cleary and formerly of Baltimore County, MD. Dave attended the Seventh District Elementary School in Parkton, MD and the Hereford High School in Monkton, MD. After leaving Hereford High School to help his parents on their farm, some of his past employment was with the former Tyler Fulton Farm Machinery Dealership in Churchville, MD (now the place/business of the Bitner's Restaurant). While employed with Southern States in Cockeysville, MD Dave was drafted into the U.S. Army which took him to Fort Jackson, SC and then to Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, AK. While in the Army, he had received his GED, and after his honorable discharge he continued with his former job, relocating in Bel Air with Southern States. He was also employed with the former Harlantane Gas Company of Fallston and then transferred to the AmeriGas Propane Company in White Hall, MD until his retirement in January of 2012.

Mr. Cleary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carole M. Waltemyer Cleary of Bel Air, MD; sons, David E. Cleary Jr. and fiancée Valerie Crites of Winchester, VA and Steven M. Cleary and wife Susan of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Matthew "Matt" S. and Megan Cleary of Bel Air, MD; brother, Clifton Talmadge and wife, Martha of Reisterstown, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a baby sister, Ivah Cleary of Bel Air, MD.
