Darius McClelland Dixon, Jr., age 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on January 30, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Darius M. Dixon and Frances Cross Dixon and the beloved husband of Claudia J. Dixon with whom he shared 32 beautiful years of marriage. Darius served his country with pride as a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Darius was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He had a passion for sports, particularly the Baltimore Orioles and the Ravens. Darius enjoyed traveling the world with his devoted wife, Claudia, and found joy snorkeling in the warm waters of the Caribbean.
In addition to his wife, Claudia, Darius is survived by his daughter, Darice M. Dixon, stepson Todd V. Wright (Rachel), stepdaughter Tricia L. Hopkins (Brian), and grandchildren Justin B. Hopkins (Paulina), Connor W. Wright and his fiancé Melissa Garner, Hunter G. Jewitt, Karigan G. Wright, and Brooke C. Hopkins. His legacy also includes great-grandchildren Naomi, Maura, Ensley, and Rowan Hopkins. He leaves behind siblings Susan Fuchs (Albert), Dale M. Dixon, and Douglass M. Dixon.
Darius was preceded in death by his parents, previous spouse Marion V. Dixon, son Darius McClelland Dixon III, and sister Wendy Gross
Contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or to the Humane Society of Harford County, causes close to Darius's heart.
