Dario Steven DiBattista, Sr.

Dario Steven DiBattista, Sr. Age 73, of Nottingham, Maryland, passed away on January 21, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Liliana (Paolini) Broccolino and the late Dario Severino DiBattista and thereafter his late stepfather Italo Broccolino, and the beloved husband of Sharon (Higgins) DiBattista.

Dario was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served faithfully as Dean of the Baltimore School of The Bible for over 30 years. He was deeply committed to his community, serving on the board of directors of the Baltimore Rescue Mission. Dario retired from the State of Maryland in 2007 after more than 30 years of service, where he worked as a Supervisor for Disability Determination Services. He continued to contribute his expertise through contractual work with the State after his retirement.

A former member of New Life Baptist Church in White Marsh, Dario shared his love for the Lord through teaching Sunday School. One of his greatest privileges was officiating the wedding of his daughter, Dara, and her husband, John, in 2005—his first marriage ceremony.

Dario had a passion for reading and studying the Bible, and his love for cooking, especially grilling and making spaghetti sauce, was a cherished part of his life. He was also known for his joy in entertaining family and friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, Dario is survived by his daughters, Sara Woods and her spouse Michael Zamberlan, Dara Fillmore and her spouse John Fillmore Sr., and Rosemarie DiBattista and her boyfriend John Noah; son, Dario Steven DiBattista, Jr.; sister, Cindy DiBattista Chesko and her spouse Chris Chesko; brother, Frank DiBattista; grandchildren, Alessandra Woods, Samantha Fillmore, John Fillmore Jr., Evan Fillmore.

Visitation will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Bel Air on Saturday, February 15, 2025, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. With Services to follow at 12:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baltimore Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 735, Baltimore, Maryland 21203-0735.
