Daniel R. Scheffler

Daniel R. Scheffler, age 63, of Belcamp, Maryland, passed away on December 30, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Hardin, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ottmar and Lucia (Scheffka) Scheffler and the beloved husband of Patrizia (Friggi) Scheffler for 30 years.

Daniel retired in May 2023 after over 36 years of dedicated service as a mechanical engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, working with the DEVCOM Army Research Lab. His career was marked by his commitment to excellence and passion for engineering.

Outside of work, Daniel had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He loved flying his drone, playing computer games, and, in his retirement, found peace and happiness watching the birds. His love for nature and technology were hallmarks of his personality, and he treasured the time spent with his family.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Patrizia, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by his son, Samuel Ray Scheffler; brother, Michael Scheffler; sister, Rosemary Phillips, and her husband Glenn; nephew, Eric & Nicholas Davis.
