Daniel F. Mullen

Daniel F. Mullen, age 71, of Joppa, MD, died on April 30, 2011 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Anna "Nancy" Mullen. A veteran of the U.S. Navy he had owned and operated his own delicatessen business in Yonkers, NY for 21 years. He was a longtime resident of New Rochelle, NY before moving to Joppa in 2001. He was an avid fisherman and boater, sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time in his garden. A member of both St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bradshaw and Holy Family Church in New Rochelle, NY, he was active in the Abingdon VFW, the Abingdon Elks, and the Otter Point Yacht Club.

Mr. Mullen is survived by his wife, Susan Wiley Mullen of Joppa, MD; daughters, Patty Strawderman and husband Henry of Abingdon, MD, Donna Mullen of Belcamp, MD, and Lisa Fontanello and husband Frank of New Rochelle, NY; brother, John Mullen of Montauk, NY; sister, Carol Major of Sag Harbor, NY; and four grandchildren, Emily and Justin Strawderman of Abingdon MD, Michael Fontanello, and Anthony Armiento of New Rochelle, NY.
