DAKOTA RILEY SHRESTHA, of Forest Hill, Maryland, died on November 17 at Johns Hopkins Hospital from complications of open heart surgery. He was four months old.

Dakota was born on July 22, 2004, at Franklin Square Hospital, Rossville, Maryland. Diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, he was transferred to Johns Hopkins to undergo open heart surgery.

Dakota was a true hero from the time he was conceived until his death. He never once passed a day without a fight.

Dakota loved wearing hats, having his head rubbed and his belly patted. His mom would sing, “You are so Beautiful” and he would instantly calm down.

Dakota will be truly missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a fighter and a little hero. May he rest in peace.

Dakota is survived by his parents, Rajesh Nath and Melissa Gean Zerbe Shrestha of Forest Hill; his twin sister, Abigayle Paris Shrestha of Forest Hill; his grandparents, John and Gayle Hensley of Robesonia, Pennsylvania and Bishwo and Vidhya Shrestha of Butwal, Napal.

Memorial services have already been held Dakota is resting under the big tree at the entrance to Jarrettsville Cemetery.
