Curtis R. Pace, age 90, of Joppa, Maryland went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2023, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the son of the late EB and Martha (Ball) Pace and husband of the late Betty (Howell) Pace. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Curtis was born on June 25th, 1933, in Pickens, South Carolina. Then, at age 10, he moved with his family to Edgewood, Maryland and graduated from Bel Air High School. He retired from 40 yrs. of U.S. Government Civil Service as a Budget Analyst.
Curtis had many hobbies; he was an avid bottle collector and enjoyed weekends in the 1970’s, hunting for old bottles. A Historian and Book Collector, Curtis was an active member of the Harford County Historical Society and published his own book. As a daily patron of the Edgewood Thrift Store, he would spend many hours talking with staff and customers and browsing through many books. He was a past member of Maple View Baptist Church, Edgewood Baptist Church and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years. Curtis was a loving, giving person, and saw everyone he met as a potential friend.
Curtis is survived by his son, Jonathan B. Pace; grandchildren, Heather A. Pace, Noah D. Pace, and Nathan D. Pace and long-time dear friend, Madeline Blackburn.
In addition to his wife and parents, Curtis was preceded in death by son, Philip Randal Pace, sister, H. Louise Wampler; daughters in Law, Sandy Pace and Mary Pace.
