Curtis Eugene Hess

Curtis Eugene Hess, age 61, of Havre de Grace, MD, died on October 24, 2008 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Saltville, VA, he was the son of the late Lee Junior and Delcie Leah Griffey Hess. A resident of Harford County for 54 years, he was a skilled mechanic at Nelson Wren and Ken's Transmission. He also did home improvements at Aberdeen Proving Ground. A coin collector, he always put his children first and would do anything for others.

Mr. Hess is survived by a daughter, Linda S. Hess of Edgewood, MD; son, Steven E. Hess of Havre de Grace, MD; brother, Robert Wayne Hess of Conowingo, MD; sister, Elizabeth Louise Clark of Georgia; and grandchildren, Josalynn B. Hess, Tristan L. Hess, and Trenton L.C. Hess, all of Edgewood, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a nephew, Robert L. Martin Jr.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Bratton, Freddie Bratton, Joshua Bratton, Tom Brown, Frank Mumpower III, Bobby Wayne Hess, and Glen Sargable.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund for Curtis E. Hess, at any branch of the APG Federal Credit Union.

The family would like to thank Level Volunteer Fire Department for its continued service throughout Mr. Hess's illness.
