Curtis Cornelius Daugherty

October 8, 1926 — May 31, 2006

CURTIS CORNELIUS DAUGHERTY, of Aberdeen, MD, died on May 31, 2006 in Aberdeen, MD as a result of a car accident. He was 79 years old.

Born in Clayton, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Earl and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Daugherty.

Mr. Daugherty served his country in the US Army during WWII. He retired from the Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Mr. Daugherty was affectionately known as “the candy man.” He was a faithful member of Mt. Calvry Free Will Baptist Church in Perryman. He was loved by all.

Mr. Daugherty is survived by two brothers, Earl Daugherty and Kenneth Daugherty, both of Aberdeen, MD; three sisters, Irene Brooks of Belding, MI, Nancy Woods of Fayetteville, AR and Shirley Blevins of Rising Sun, MD; and many nieces, nephews and close friends who adored him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Daugherty was predeceased by three brothers, John Daugherty, Robert Daugherty and Madison Daugherty; and two sisters, Helen Cullum and Ida Bishop.
