Corrado "Conrad" DePinto, age 77, of Bel Air, MD, died peacefully at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD of renal failure, on January 18, 2010. Born on July 3, 1932 in Molfetta, Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nicoletta Forgia DePinto. He came to the United States in November of 1947. A graduate of A.J. Demarest High School in Hoboken, NJ, he attended the Newark Academy of Arts from 1951 to 1954, and then moved to Maryland in 1955. He accepted the position of Engineering Contract Administrator at Edgewood Arsenal where he was voted Edgewood Arsenal Employee of the Year in 1969. He worked for the Department of Defense from 1958 to 1988, at which time he retired at the age of 56. A member of the Lions Club from 1958 until the time of his death, he maintained a perfect attendance record for 52 years, and served as president from 1971-72, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in 2004. A member of the Harford Artist Association, he had art shows at the Liriodendron, Barnes and Noble, Tudor Hall, and, in the spring of 2009, had his work displayed in the State Capital. He was also on the faculty of the Harford Community College from 1996-2009 where he taught Italian. His interests were many, but his greatest loves were golfing, painting, teaching Italian, and his dog Molly.
Mr. DePinto is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Marie Durman DePinto of Bel Air, MD; daughters, Maria R. Joseph of Hydes, MD; Lisa M. Polesne and husband, Charles, of Bel Air, MD; and grandsons, David M. Polesne of Delray Beach, FL and Michael A. Joseph of Hydes, MD; brothers, Larry DePinto of Ridgefield, NJ and Nino DePinto of Clifton, NJ.
Pallbearers will be fellow members of the Lions Club.
