Colleen Mccarthy-Mehr

Leslie “Colleen” McCarthy-Mehr, age 58, of Joppa, Maryland passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 25, 2021. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on September 6, 1962, Colleen is survived by her beloved husband Mike, her mother, Norma McCarthy; her children James and Caitlin Andrew, and stepchildren Dmitri, Erin, Lauren, Emily, and Benjamin; brothers Bill (Eileen) McCarthy and Patrick (Melissa) McCarthy; nieces Chelsea and Cate, and nephews Colin, Declan and Liam McCarthy; her aunt Kathy May, and cousins Beth Fidler and Carl May. She was predeceased by her father, William J McCarthy Jr.

Colleen was a 1980 graduate of Joppatowne High School. Beloved by family and friends, Colleen touched many lives with her wit, kindness, and compassion. The greatest testament to Colleen were her many special friends that loved and supported her with their time and labor through her long battle with cancer. Colleen loved her Washington Capitals and football team, travel, and making crafts to raise the spirits of cancer patients at Upper Chesapeake Hospital.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
