Col. Richard A. Lyne (Ret.)

COL. RICHARD A. LYNE, (RET.), age 82, of Edgewood, formerly of Bradford, PA, died at his residence on January 8, 2004. Born in Smethport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Albert Henry and Anna Matilda Anderson Lyne. A resident of Edgewood since 1972, he served his country in the U.S. Army for 24 years from 1948 to 1972 when he retired at the rank of Colonel. He participated in seven major campaigns in Korea and three major campaigns in Vietnam. He was awarded the Legion of Merits and the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a life member of the D.A.V. and the Retired Officers’ Association.

Col. Lyne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marian “Petie” Brady Lyne; and one son, Richard M. Lyne of Joppa.
