CLYDE P. GENTRY JR., age 77, of Bel Air, MD, went to be with his heavenly Father on November 12, 2008. Born in Roxboro, NC, he was the son of the late Clyde Pleasant Gentry Sr. and Minnie Gentry. He retired from Guardian Air Conditioning where he worked as an air conditioner and refrigeration repairman. He also worked for Fischer Auto Parts in Bel Air for many years. A member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1974, he served on the Board of Trustees, was Chairman of the ushers, and secretary of Sunday School for eight years. He enjoyed gospel music and watching NASCAR.
Mr. Gentry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Cox Gentry of Bel Air, MD; brothers, Karl R. Gentry, J. Donald Gentry, and Jerry G. Gentry and wife, Eileen, all of Roxboro, NC; Godchild, Lauren Brewer Brooks of Bel Air, MD; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James L. Gentry.
Pallbearers will be Dick Billups, Don Bosserman, Paul Childress, Mark Christopher, Jack Mead, and Bill Suitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Building or Piano Fund, 206 Courtland Place, Bel Air, MD 21014.
