Clonie Helen Vinson Bolt

CLONIE HELEN VINSON BOLT, age 92, of Bel Air, MD, died on December 8, 2007 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Murfreesboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Lucy Atkinson Vinson and wife of the late Melvin Augusta Bolt. Dropping out of high school in her 10th year to care for her ailing mother, she returned a year later, graduated and then went on to nursing school. She traveled with several girlfriends down the east coast waiting tables at the beach resorts and ending up in Florida. They didn’t make much money, but had a blast. She joined the army when several of her brothers did and was stationed in Edgewood. While there, she was a physical education instructor and worked in personnel. She and her girlfriends would take the train to New York to dance with the big bands, returning just in time to make formation. She met her husband while stationed in Edgewood. Her service medals included the American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Unit Service Plaque. In later years, she worked for the State of Maryland at the Harford County Courthouse, where she was a supervising clerk in the Land Records Division. She loved her job and the people she worked with. She loved her children and her grandchildren more than life, she was extremely proud of all their accomplishments. She loved to laugh and giggle, always having a smile on her face. She made a mean meat loaf, apple pie and peach cobbler. Her hobbies, first and foremost, was SHOPPING, she also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and pottery. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she went through all the chairs.

Mrs. Bolt is survived by one son, Robert Gerald Bolt Sr. of Bel Air, MD; one daughter, Betty Ann Bolt Scott of Bel Air, MD; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Adams of Chesterfield, VA, Ronald Matthew Bolt of Damascus, MD, Melissa Leigh Bolt Lushbaugh of Hagerstown, MD, Robert Matthew Scott, Kelly Ann Scott, Robert Gerald Bolt Jr., and Jordan Taylor Bolt, all of Bel Air, MD; two great-grandchildren, Payton Marie Adams and Gavin Richard Adams, both of Chesterfield, VA; and one step-granddaughter, Brittney Nicole Jackman of Bel Air. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Melvin Ronald Bolt; three brothers, Elmer Vinson, John Vinson, Aubrey Vinson; and three sisters, Velna Ladner, Beatrice Warren and Grace Wheeler.

Pallbearers will be Ron Bolt, Robert Scott, Ed English, Larry Blackburn, Dave Thompson, and Chris Johnson.
