CLIFF REIHER, age 76, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 20, 2007, at his home. Mr. Reiher grew up near Minneapolis, MN. He attended University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Aeronautical engineering. While attending the University of Minnesota, he met Mary Steenhoven on the steps of the Music and Arts building. They fell in love and soon after graduation, they married and cherished over 50 years of marriage together. Cliff also joined the Navy after college and was accepted into the flight program where he developed his true passion for flying and as a career Naval officer accrued nearly 4000 hours of flight time. Cliff also worked for more than 20 years for the Department of Defense as an aeronautical engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground. His specialty was helicopters. Cliff dearly loved his daughter Jennifer and son David. He enjoyed playing instrumental duets with his daughter. She played flute while he played clarinet. Cliff also enjoyed fly fishing, freshwater fishing and upland game hunting and enjoyed these activities with his son David. When his children became older, Cliff began to follow another passion of Barbershop quartet and chorus singing and strived never to miss a rehearsal or performance. Above all, Cliff Reiher, like his wife Mary, loved his Lord and Savior and they instilled this love on their children. He served in the lay reader ministry and sang in the choir at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bel Air for many years. Although Cliff will be dearly missed by his family and friends, he will enjoy everlasting life.
Mr. Reiher is survived by his son, David Reiher of Bel Air, MD. In addition to his wife, the late Mary Belle Reiher, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Mary Egee; a brother, Don Reiher and a sister Lois Boyer.
