Claude Emerson Wells, 74, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away on December 19, 2023, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Elkton, Maryland, Claude was the son of the late Guy and Margaret (McMillan) Wells and devoted husband of Cynthia Jean Halse Wells. A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Claude lived a life full of passion with diverse interests.
He loved keeping up with sports, specifically his home teams, the Orioles and Ravens. After attending the University of Maryland, he grew fond of cheering on the Maryland Terps in both football and basketball. Beyond his love for sports, Claude had a keen appreciation for technology and found solace in working on computers.
His eyes lit up when classic cars crossed his path, as he possessed an uncanny ability to identify the make and model of antique vehicles with just a glance. Claude's interests extended to music, and he reveled in the timeless tunes of Neil Diamond, the Beatles, and the sounds of the late 50s and 60s.
In addition to his wife, Cynthia, Claude is survived by his daughter, Alicia Nicole (Dean Williams) Wells, his son, Sean Matthew Wells, his brother Guy (Gina) Wells, and his sister, Gail Elizabeth Wells. Claude will also be remembered fondly by his loving nephews.
Claude Wells will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace and may his legacy of love and laughter live on in the hearts of those he touched.
