Clarence ''John'' W. Wilson

September 6, 1936 — December 10, 2012

Clarence W. (John) Wilson, 76 of Joppatowne, passed away due to dementia/pneumonia on Monday, December 10, 2012. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He dearly loved all five of his grandchildren.

John was born in Kansas City, MO on September 6, 1936, the third child of 13 born to Jesse E. and Edna Marie Wilson. He graduated from Fort Osage High School then joined the Navy after high school and was discharged in California where he made his home. It was there that he met his future wife, Margaret Cofield. They were married in 1962 and enjoyed the California coastline for many years. Their two children were born in Oxnard, CA. He graduated from Ventura Junior College, the University of Laverne, and then attended one and one half years of law school. John worked as a subcontract administrator for many years with Raytheon, Bell Aerospace, and Ingalls Shipbuilding, then John was transferred to Martin Marietta, Middle River, MD where he resided since 1984.

He enjoyed coaching little league baseball in California for many years. While living on the Gulf Coast he became an avid fisherman, going out on the boat after work for fish, crabs and shrimp with his two children. He enjoyed assistant coaching the Joppatowne football team and went hunting every year with his son and friends.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret, daughter, Natalie Wilson Diepold, husband Beau Diepold and children Trenton Wilson Diepold and Garrett Calvin Diepold, son, Jason W. Wilson and wife, Katherine Wilson, children, Ciara Lynne, Matthew Thomas and Isabella (Bella) Wilson. Sisters, Jessie Marie Hamilton, Buckner MO, Carol Washek, Eagle River, AK, Joanne Thompson, Blue Springs, MO, brothers, Edward, Springfield, MO and Robert, Carterville, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse E. and Edna Marie Wilson, brothers, Raymond, Gene, Jerry, Donald, Wayne, Steven and Johnny Allen Wilson of MO.

We would like to thank all the staff at Alice Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care he received. Donations in John's honor may be made to the local Dementia/Alzheimer's Association.
