Christopher Glenn Tappan, 50, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at his home in Fallston, MD, surrounded by loved ones. He grew up in Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY, and his life was a testament to his loving, selfless, and faith-filled nature. These qualities defined him as a person and were evident to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
For over two decades, Chris served with distinction as a Maryland State Police Flight Paramedic, rising to the rank of Sergeant. His dedication to saving lives earned him multiple awards, including the Maryland Star of Life and Shock Trauma Hero Awards. Beyond his professional heroism, Chris’s kindness and expertise left an indelible mark on those he helped in their moments of greatest need.
At home, Chris was the cornerstone of his family—a devoted husband to Jennifer, and a loving father to Everett, Christian, and Norah. They will carry forward the strength, compassion, and integrity that Chris exemplified.
As the cherished son of Dennis and Roseann Potter, he developed a deep sense of responsibility and care that would become foundational to his life. He was a supportive brother to Lori Ritchie, and her husband, Michael, who shared in the joy and warmth of his generous heart. His special bond with his niece, Kaitlin Demakos, will continue to resonate with her throughout her life.
Chris's passion for life extended to his involvement with the Calvary Chapel of Delta, where he was an active member. Faith was his foundation, guiding light, and an inspiration not only for him, but also for those who sought his counsel and companionship.
Those who knew Chris will remember a man who lived his life with purpose, always placing others before himself. His legacy is one of love and selflessness, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were touched by his generous spirit.
As the sun sets on Chris's earthly journey, we take comfort in knowing that his soul has risen to a place of eternal peace, and he is finally home with our Lord and Savior. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will comfort and encourage all who loved him. Christopher Glenn Tappan's story is not one of an end but a celebration of a life well-lived and a character well-loved.
