Christiane Wilhelmine Simon

Christiane Wilhelmine Simon, age 86, of Edgewood, MD passed away on June 10, 2017 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. A German, born in Brux, Czechoslovakia, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Maria (Pflaum) Wessely and wife of the late Winston J. Simon. She worked most of her life as a school bus driver for Edgewood and Joppatowne schools. She loved children of all ages and if a child missed the bus, they would make their way to her house and she would drive them in her own car to school. She also loved animals of all kinds.

Mrs. Simon is survived by her children, Patricia A. Hiltibidal of Woodbridge, VA, Thomas K. Simon of Statesville, NC, Kathrine M. Simon of Abingdon, MD and Roland J. Simon of Richfield, OH; sons-in-law, Michael L. Whitt, Lee Hiltibidal and daughters-in-law Joyce Simon and Toril Simon; and brother, Gerhart Wessely and his wife Valerie of Devon, England, along with seven grandchildren, Bryan & Kelly Hiltibidal, Isabel & Aleksander Simon, Sarah Paine, James & Jonathan Simon and great grandson, Atlas Paine.
