Chris Blanton, age 84, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on April 20, 2014 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Julian, WV, she was the daughter of the late Belva David Sigmon and Iva Levisa Tinscher Sigmon. A resident of Harford County for 40 years, she worked at Glenn L. Martin during WWII and at Bendix Corporation from where she retired. She had also worked part time at the Bel Air Bowl. A member of the Red Hat Club, she enjoyed gardening and making crafts which included quilting and ceramics. She had a close relationship with all the children in her family.
Mrs. Blanton is survived by her husband of 67 years, Earl Britt Blanton; daughter, Deborah Leight of Bel Air; brother, George Sigmon of FL; sister, Julie "Wavy" Campbell of Baltimore; grandchildren, Christi Ranck and husband, Andy, and Jessica Bixby and husband, Dustin; great-grandchildren, Leah and Drew Ranck; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Norma and David Bamford.
Pallbearers will be Andy Ranck, Dustin Bixby, Chris Zakielarz, Jake Graas, Bryan Shank, Michael Hanratty, Eric Shank and Sean Zakielarz.
