Charlotte Mae (Bennett) Cottrell passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Spring, TX on Saturday, August 1, 2015. She was born on August 30, 1928 to parents, John Augustus Bennett and Elizabeth Andrews Fennimore in Camden, NJ and raised by her stepmother, Lena Clay Bennett and stepbrother, Horace Patterson (Red). She is predeceased by husband, Wilbert Edward Cottrell, daughter Glenis Cottrell and son Mark Cottrell.
She leaves behind sons Dean (Kim) Cottrell of Churchville, MD and Clinton (Kathi) Cottrell of Bel Air, MD; daughters, Jan (Brian) Child of Gilbert, AZ; Peri (Andrew) Speckhard of Spring, TX; Lorry (Rob) Thorburn of Lake Elsinore, CA and Leesa Maresh of Spring, TX, along with daughter-in-law Elaine Cottrell of Corning, IA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cottrell was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Havre de Grace Ward, where she maintained the meeting house with her husband. She liked reading, writing poetry and spending time with her family.
