Charlie "Pete" Crouse Jr., age 65, of Street, Maryland passed peacefully from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior on November 9, 2020 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charlie Letcher and Aline (Dancy) Crouse and husband of the late Rosemarie (Lombardi) Crouse. His life career started at the early age of 13 when his father, who owned C L Crouse Excavating, introduced him to the construction and trucking industry. In his early twenties he was an owner operator cross country tractor trailer driver. In the mid-seventies he started as a heavy equipment operator for Crouse Construction Co., Inc. and worked there until his death. Pete was a life time member of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, a member of NHRA and IHRA drag racing, and a member of Harford County RC Modelers. He enjoyed driving his street rod, going to street rod car shows, driving in tractor pulls, playing computer poker and flying his 1/3 scale super cub airplane with his sidekick Jerome. He was at his best when he had the controls of a heavy piece of equipment in his hands and loved any opportunity that would arise to demolish old vacant buildings. He had the gift of being able to eye the final grade for roads, digging a basement or a building pad without the help of any device and always had a keen ear for detecting trouble in any type of engines. He was a friend to everyone he met and would gladly give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He always had a smile on his face and never once lost that smile or his wonderful sense of humor during his many bouts with cancer. He was the comedian of the family. He was kind, compassionate and never had a harsh word to say about anyone, he always saw the good.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Marie Crouse of Street; brother, Johnnie Richard Crouse of Havre de Grace; two sisters, Wanda Lea Wagg of Churchville, Mary Ellen Nelson of Street and his furry babies Robo, Izzy and Squeek
