Charlie Glassman

CHARLIE GLASSMAN, age 82, of Aberdeen, MD, formerly of Edgewood, MD, died on August 11, 2006 at the Lorien Riverside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Belcamp, MD. Born in Churchville, MD, he was the son of the late Charles William Glassman, Sr. and the late Josephine Burchett Glassman, and the husband of the late Mary J. Gibney Glassman. He retired after 38 years of service as a shipping and receiving supervisor at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. He served during WWII in the US Army. He was a life member of the Abingdon Post of the VFW, Post 17 of the American Legion in Edgewood, and was a life member of the Otter Point Yacht Club. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Mr. Glassman is survived by seven sons, Charles W. Glassman, III of Aberdeen, MD, John M. Glassman of Southampton, NY, Carl W. Glassman of Bel Air, MD, Roger L. Glassman of Havre de Grace, MD, James E. Wilson of Troy, NY, James D. White of Colonial Beach, VA and Randy A. White of Edgewood, MD; four daughters, Patricia J. Bryant of Aberdeen, MD, Suzanne D. Davis of Belcamp, MD, Linda C. Sedgwick of Abingdon, MD and Donna J. Kelley of Johnstown; one sister, Josephine Adams of Bel Air, MD; OH; 31 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa M. Moore.

Pallbearers were Matthew C. Glassman, Adam W. Glassman, Kevin J. Glassman, Larry D. Miller, Jr., Christopher A. Bryant and Christopher R. White. Honorary Pallbearers were Ryan C. Glassman and Austin B. Glassman.
