Charles Russell Lee (affectionately known as Russell) was born September 9, 1941 to the late Walter Lee and Anna (McMillan) Lee.
Russell departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland after a long and lengthy illness. He was 80 years old. He was born and raised in Harford County and was the youngest of 12 children.
Russell as a young boy attended Clark United Methodist Church of Bel Air, MD. He was educated at Central Consolidated School in Bel Air. He played on the high school basketball team. He was a young boy when his father started an all-negro baseball team in Harford County called the Kalmia All Stars and he played with them for several years. They played against several teams in Harford and Baltimore Counties every Sunday. He had a love for sports, especially baseball with the Yankees being his team and the Ravens being his favorite football team.
Russell worked at the Maryland House in Aberdeen, MD for a few years then later went to work for a company called Lock Joint which later changed their name to Price Brother Construction Labor of Aberdeen Maryland for 35 years until he retired.
Russell loved watching his westerns, especially Gun Smoke. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at cookouts. He also had a love for music, and he loved to sing.
Russell is survived by two sisters, Eugenia of Bel Air and Hilda of Aberdeen; one brother, Lester (Frances) Street; granddaughter, Jahseima; and a host of nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews; great great nieces & nephews; cousins and friends. He is also survived by his special friends, Russell Presberry, Charles Holloway, Wayne Duckey, Daryl Weather and Alicia Weddled.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Toya and siblings, Ernest Sr., William Sr., Donald, George, Franklin, James Herbert and a set of twins, Orpha and Oltha.
