Charles J. Barnickel

CHARLES J. BARNICKEL, age 85, of Rising Sun, formerly of Joppa, died at his residence on March 22, 2004. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John George and Mary Maygers Barnickel and the husband of the late Margaret Ann West Barnickel. He had retired after 20 years of service with Wallace Asbestos where he worked as an insulator. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He enjoyed spending time with his family in Ocean City.

Mr. Barnickel is survived by one son, Stephen J. Barnickel, Sr. and his wife, Deborah of Rising Sun; one daughter, Carol Slaughter and her husband, Frederick of Pahrump, Nevada; one daughter-in-law, Susan Barnickel of Glen Burnie; eight grandchildren, Thomas Slaughter of Sacramento, California; Ann Marie Webb of Austin, Texas; Keith Slaughter of Pahrump, Nevada; Stephen J. Barnickel, Jr. of Abingdon; Leonard J. Barnickel of Carroll Island, MD; David Barnickel of Glen Burnie; Megan M. Barnickel of Rising Sun; Patrick J. Barnickel of Rising Sun; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one son, Charles D. Barnickel.
