Charles Francis Dolan

Charles Francis Dolan, age 91, of Brooklyn, NY, died on August 17, 2011 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph Francis and Catherine Lyons Dolan and husband of the late Alice Dolan. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served with Merrill's Marauders during WWII. He worked as a manager in telecommunications, was a professional soccer player, and a member of Eastern Athletic Club. A devoted Catholic, he was a long standing member of St. Charles in Brooklyn.

Mr. Dolan is survived by his son, Ron Dolan and wife, Barbara, of Hopewell Junction, NY; daughter, Pat Sandford and husband, Sandy, of Abingdon, MD; grandchildren, Kelly Cichocki, Ryan Sandford, and Tara Dolan; and great-grandchildren, Allie, Chase, and Kamryn Cichocki.
