Charles Edward Ferguson Sr.

July 1, 1951 — October 14, 2018

Charles Edward Ferguson Sr., Charlie, 67, of Abingdon, MD passed away October 14, 2018. He was born in the Deep South in Clinton, SC to Fred and Eliza.

A Gamecock by birth, a Tar Heel by the grace of God, Charlie bled Tar Heel blue. To say Charlie was a sports fan is an understatement; he was a sports nut! He loved watching basketball, baseball, football or any other ball or sport that he could tune in. His favorite NFL teams are the Ravens and whoever was playing the Steelers or Patriots.

Being a (nearly) deaf man, Charlie enjoyed loud music, the really good stuff from the 50's and 60's and anything Motown or Michael Jackson ("That's MJ Man!"), he enjoyed even louder hot rods, especially old muscle cars and drag racing at the race track, he also enjoyed even louder motorcycles.

Charlie was also a very spiritual man, devoting time every day to study the Bible. He embraced the word of Our Lord. He was a great man with a huge heart; he regularly donated to charities that focused on helping children in need. He was always willing to help anyway that he could.

Charlie is survived by his wife Mae, four daughters (he truly earned his eternal Sainthood), Elizabeth, Brenda, Dawn and Chrissy; son Nick, brother Freddy Jr.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his son Charles Jr. All of whom love him deeply.

Those that desire to do so can send donations to Feed the Children, 333 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
