Charles "Chuck" W. Leatherman

Charles "Chuck" W. Leatherman, age 75, of Bel Air, MD passed away on September 6, 2014 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill. Born in Wadsworth, OH, he was the son of the late Walter Jacob Leatherman and Ruth Clara Kirk Smith. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was an analyst for the Department of Defense. He had a passion for flying and founded the Atlantic Soaring Sailplane Operation and was a flight instructor of the year for the Maryland Region. He lived in Harrogate, England for 10 years and enjoyed sailing.

Mr. Leatherman is survived by his wife, Elizabeth N. Armstrong; daughters Peggy Leatherman of Severn and Jennifer Papp and husband, Michael, of Corona, CA; brother, James Paul Leatherman of Wisconsin; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brian Charles Leatherman.
