Charles August Freund, age 84, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on December 10, 2021, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Charles and Ora (Senger) Freund. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and worked for the National Cash Register Company as a service technician.
Charles’ loved fishing and crabbing on the Chesapeake earlier in his life. He loved talking about his time on the water. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, and family. He was a good man, old-school kindness. He never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcomed. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had a Christ-like heart. He never stopped wanting to take care of his family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Moselle Freund; son, Douglas Carman Freund; daughter, Sandra Leigh Clontz; grandchildren, Stephanie M. Phillips, Lisa Wilson, Jayme Robinson, Ronald Clontz, Jr., Timothy Clontz and Jennifer Hedderick; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Wilson.
