Father, brother, servant of God and beloved by all, Cecil David Taylor Sr., age 80 of Colora, Maryland passed away on this 27th day of February 2018 while resting peacefully at home with his loving wife Cora of 55 years at his side.
Cecil’s love of family and his faith to God and his son Jesus Christ was a living testament as to how he lived his life. A quiet reserved man, he was a humble loyal servant, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life working on the farm, using his hands to create furniture, hunting, fishing and traveling with his best friend and companion Cora at his side.
Cecil or Mr. Taylor as the kids came to call him was widely known in his hometown of Street, MD where he worked on Glasgow farm. To this day if you were to ask someone how’d you come to meet Cecil all you had to say was he was on his John Deer tractor hauling down the road from Glasgow farm to his house. Even when he could be seen coming up the hill as fast as the John Deere would take him he would always stop to hi, especially to the children. At his surprise 80th birthday party, a warmhearted memory was the hayride retracing his farm days, and when the tractor was going far to slow for his liking, Cecil cajole stated if he was driving we would shoot right up that hill, even at 80 years young, you felt the joy and passion he had for his tractors.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Cora Taylor and their two children daughter Debbie Stansbury, husband John Stansbury and son Cecil David Taylor, Jr. wife Heidi Taylor. Cecil loved his family and was blessed with four grandchildren, Cassandra Keefer, Zachary Taylor, Megan Campbell and Lindsey Campbell and three great grandchildren, Roman Turne , Rahkim Epps and Sophia Pope.
Cecil is survived by his five sisters, Marie Green of Red Lion, PA, Helen Hall of Dublin, Louise Wiggins of North Carolina, Kathy Johnson of Havre de Grace and Eleanor Kingsley of Havre de Grace, his seven brothers, Lacy Taylor of Street, Willis Taylor of Mountain City, TN, Bill Taylor of Wytheville, VA, Earl Taylor of PA, Butch Taylor of Street, David Taylor of Dublin and James Taylor of Street.
