Cecelia Lauren Sleeman, age 71, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on April 19, 2017 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore City, Maryland, she was the daughter of Lawrence John and Martha Harriett (Wollmer) Forbes. She was the award winning owner and operator of Poppy's Place in Street, MD for 26 years. A member of the Elks Lodge in Abingdon, she also volunteered at the Harford Senior Center where she brought the Poppy's Players to entertain the seniors. She drove a school bus for children with special needs for the last 10 years.
Ms. Sleeman is survived by her daughters, Patricia L. Furches and husband, Bradley, and Susan Young, all of Bel Air; two sisters, Gail R. LaGasse of Smyrna, DE and Deanna Campany of Dundalk; her life partner, Lisa J. Norton of Forest Hill; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rick Young.
